Agility Chain Letter

Momma received this Agility Chain letter. Should we be worried?

Agility Chain letter

Pass it on...

Are you continually losing out to inferior dogs at agility trials? In the agility ring, does your dog forget his own name?
This simple chain letter is meant to bring relief and happiness to you. Unlike most chain letters, it doesn't cost money.

1.Simply send a copy of this email to six other agility dog owners who are dissatisfied with the way their dogs are running.

2.Then bundle up your dog and send him to the dog owner at the top of this list, and add your name to the bottom of the list.

3.Do not use a return address or the post office may try to contact you!

4.In one week, you will receive 16,436 dogs, and at least one of them should be a keeper.

Have faith in this letter. Do not break the chain. One owner broke the chain and got his own dog back. ;)

Casper Loves Agility

Agility...

It's is a game that'll make you think
Where the wide open spaces call,
It can dirive a (wo)man to drink,
Chasing a little white ball ...

(of Eskie fluff)...

LOL...

My mind is getting hazy
Because it makes no sense at all
My friends all think I'm crazy
(unless they are agility nuts too)
Chasing a little white ball ...

(of Eskie fluff)...

LOL

Sad News From The Agility World - Lis' K. Has Passed On

No I never met Lis' but I am truly saddend to say that I have recieved the news that she passed on yesterday. A few weeks back I posted about Lis' and her Chinese Crested Diva running in their last agility trial together.

Lis' had been told she had 3 weeks left to live. She convinced the doctors to let her out of the hospital that day so she could run one last time with Diva in the agility trial.

Lis' and Diva recieved a Super 'Q' and their ATCH that day!

Her spirit and love of her dog and agility are so evident on the video! It is inspiring to watch.

Lis' is an inspiration to so many people within the agiltiy world. She reminded us to 'Seize The Day' and treasure the time we have with our loved ones including our much loved dogs!

My previous posting and the video of Lis' and Diva's last agility run can be seen here.

Peace be with you Lis'.

A SPECIAL VIDEO TRIBUTE TO LIS' AND DIVA

Make sure you have the kleenex ready! Momma has been crying her eyes out each time she watches this video. It is one of the most touching videos we have ever seen. Make sure to turn on the speakers. It is definately worth watching to the end.

It was posted on a list by our agility instructor who has corresponded with Lis'. It has touched our hearts and reminded us to cherish the important moments in our lives.

That day Lis ' and Diva received their final "Q" (Qualifying Run) for their ADCH Title (Agility Dog Champion) Title. This is the highest title in the USDAA (United States Dog Agility Association). This is about so much more than a 'title'.

It is about the purest sense of joy that we can see in both Lis' and Diva as they run together this one last time.

I have never met you Lis' but I want to thank you for this special gift! You have touched my heart and you are an inspiration to us all! God bless you! You are in our prayers.

More About Poop, Another Agility Trial, and Having The Poop Scared Out Of Me

Hey Doggies,

Buddy reporting here,

Well last weekend was very interesting. We went back to the same city for another agility trial.
This time we didn't stay in a hotel. Momma said we were too loud last time, so we drove there, did the agility and then drove back all in one day. It was tiring, but Momma said it was better than last time because that time we kept her up half the night anyways due to our need to guard Momma and bark and growl at all potential noises. ( Huh, I don't think we were THAT bad!!)

Nikki came along to keep us company this time. Nikki only takes agility classes but she doesn't like to compete. She gets really nervous. Maybe she is picking up on Momma nerves at competitions? After one jump she will either sit down refusing to do anything for Momma or she trots off the course. I guess Momma figures that it costs enough money to enter 2 dogs in trials and that she won't push Nikki to trial if she doesn't like it. However Nikki does like to attend agility classes so she does do that and she comes to most agility trials to bark for us.

Well since we were in the same horse riding barn, I was beside myself with glee 'cause I could smell the horse poop again! They had cleaned it off the the course area, but I just knew they must have missed some, so I kept going off course to the back area in search of horse poop. As requested by Comet and BLU here is what I was looking for

(poop picture deleted- it's just too gross)

Don't tell Casper that I posted this picture on his blog as he would be very mad at me and he may even restrict my blogging privileges. However I can always sneak on to blog. Here is what Casper is doing now.

Too bad Casper- You snooze - You lose. Ha ha ha

Back to my story. Well apparently Momma was not impressed with my antics and little did I know she had told the judge that if I took off to the back area that they should scare me off. Well of course I went off course in search of poop and all of a sudden this CRAZY LADY came running at me, yelling , arms flailing all over. It was SCARY. I tell ya I went running back to Momma so fast and Momma says my eyes were WHITE and as big as SAUCERS. I stayed with Momma and did the whole rest of the course as she wanted me too. However I thought I detected a hint of laughter in Momma's face and voice so afterward I checked it out and found out that yes indeed Momma had set me up! Bad Momma! Bad, bad Momma!

So I gave her the "cold shoulder" / "doggie sneer"/ "I'm mad at you " look for awhile but I've forgiven her now.

So anyways that was our weekend. How was yours?

Being Goofy At The Agility Trial

Hi Doggies,
It's Buddy here,

Just thought I would let you know about the agility trial we went to last weekend. We stayed in a Travel Lodge hotel.

Momma was not all that happy with us at night time 'cause we felt the need to growl and bark at every little noise we heard. We were just protecting Momma in a strange place, but we kept on waking Momma up ! Oops

I had great fun running "off course" and sniffing everything that I wasn't supposed to including a tractor that was parked in behind a fenced off area. Momma wasn't to happy with me. LOL The trial was in a riding barn and there were great smells of horses and horse's poop which I paid more attention to than the agility course. Oops ;)

Casper had a few zoomies too. Momma says the was a good "learning experience". Whatever that means? We did have lots of fun. Momma's having a bit of a problem with the camera so we have no pictures right now but may get some this weekend.

Nikki stayed at Jo's place while we were gone . She had a great time playing with all the toys and other dogs. She doesn't do agility competition, just fun agility classes.

We are going back this coming Sat. for another agility trial. Yay !! So I get to sniff at more horse poop!! Yay! And Momma is probably going to chase after me and try to get me to stop. It will be great fun! LOL We are probably just going for the day and not staying in a hotel this time and Nikki might come too just to keep us company.

We will be sure to let you know about all our adventures when we get back. Momma is hoping for some better agility runs, while I just want to enjoy the simple things in life - like sniffing more horse poop ;)

Agility Trial Tomorrow

Hi Everydoggie and GG,

Guess What? Tonight Momma, Buddy and me (Casper) are going to another city for an agility trial tomorrow. We have never done that before. All the agility trials we have done have been in our city or just outside our city. Guess what this means?

We get to stay in a hotel!!

Maybe this one:

Or this one:

Yay! That's new too. Us doggies have never stayed in a hotel before either!! We are very excited doggies.

Momma has told us that we have to be very good. No barking-------------WHAT ?? NO BARKING??? BUT WE ARE DOGS, MOMMA. WE LOVE TO BARK!!!.....

Okay Momma, no barking inside the hotel.

And Momma says we are staying with another lady and her Porguegese Water Dog, so we must be well behaved.

Okay, Momma, we will behave.

And Momma also says that we really have to do our best at the agility trial. This is a team trial. It is sort of like a relay. First one agility handler and doggie run the course and then the other agility handler and doggie run the course. We get a combined score. Momma says that if we mess up,it also affects the other doggies score too. Oh oh I guess that means no ZOOMIES for me! And no running off into the corners to sniff at things for Buddy.

Okay Momma we will try our best.

We will tell Momma to take lots of pictures with her new camera and when we get back we can post all about it.

Nikki has to stay home. Momma says she barks too much to stay in a hotel, and besides Nikki doesn't go into agility trials. Nikki gets to go and stay at Jo's house. Nikki loves it there because there are lots and lots of toys and other doggies to play with. So she will have a great time too.

See ya when we get back!!

Pet Expo

Hi doggies, It's Buddy blogging here.

I just want to tell you about our really fun weekend. We spent most of our time at Pet Expo.

There were all sorts of animals and people there. Even a whole bunch of llamas-like about 20. I was very interested in meeting the llamas but Momma said "No" :((

There were also llamas vs the dogs agility competitions, but Momma wouldn't let us enter.
: (( :(( Apparently she had to be sure that we would not bark or run at the llamas and she just couldn't be sure of that. Us bark and run?? Never !! hahaha

Oh well, we got to do tons of other stuff instead. Winnie spent a whole bunch of time at the New Hope Dog Rescue booth and she even met some people who may be interested in adopting her. Keep you paws crossed for Winnie.

Casper and Nikki got to go into the Parade of Breeds since they are purebreed American Eskimo Dogs. They walked around the ring while the commentater was explaining all about Eskies. And guess what Casper did???? He got his nervous, excitable stomach going and decided he needed to take a poop right in front of everyone! And Momma had just taken him outside where he had gone too. Momma was very embarassed! Oh well!

I got to do agility demos. In the first one Momma got mixed up in the course and went the wrong way! Momma what were you doing? In the second agility demo, I wanted to make it up to Momma since she was embarrassed by Casper's pooping episode, so I thought I should get the crowd laughing a bit. I decided the best way to do this would be to go running off the agiltiy course and land in the lap of a nearby child. WOW- IT WORKED !! The crowd laughed and laughed - they just loved me! Even Momma was laughing as she came into the audience to get me. It was so much fun! I think I'm destined for comedy ;)
We have all been very tired since the weekend and have been sleeping alot. Events like this can really tire a doggie out.
See ya,
Buddy

Agility Is Fun!

Hi Doggies and GG , it's Nikki here.

It's Family Friday so today I get to blog. We've been doing a lot of agility lately. We all take agility lessons and practice and Casper and Buddy have been going to agility trials. They have even gotten some ribbons too. I am the official cheerleader. Here are some pictures of us doing agility.

Here I am at the top of the A - Frame

And on the Dog Walk.

Buddy can do the teeter all by himself.
Casper and I are scared of the teeter now.
We both used to be able to do it but we each did a 'fly-off' the end.
(Momma didn't tell us that we couldn't fly!)

Here's Buddy at the top of the A- Frame.

And doing a perfect 2 on-2 off touch on the contact.
What a show -off!

Wow - look at Casper come running out of that tunnel!

Casper sure is having fun - just look at his smile!

Well see ya doggies. Have a great weekend!

Family Friday!!

Hey doggies,
It's Buddy here. Yesterday was Family Friday but we are it posting today!! Momma says something about work and sleep . I say: "Momma get your priorities straight - THE FIRST FAMILY FRIDAY EVER- AND WE ARE A DAY LATE!!! What will my blogging audience think? They have been waiting breathlessly, or should I say pantlessly for my report on the Superdogs. (Hey doggies -not that kind of 'pantless'. I mean pantless as in how us doggies pant.)

And just so you know, Momma didn't take her camera so we have used pictures from the Superdogs website. Momma you got to start to get it together!!

So we were at a the local Exibition at a special booth for our Agility group, D & S Dogs Of Course. Momma's job was to hand out pamphlets and talk to people about agility classes. My job was to get all the pets and attention possible and to jump up on all the laps that I could. We were right beside the Superdogs show and so lots and lots of people and kids came up to pet me. Lots of people thought I was part of the Superdogs show, but Momma had to go and tell them the truth.

"No, we are here for the agility booth. Are you interested in agility?"

BUT MOMMA , I AM A "SUPER DOG", DON'T YOU KNOW THAT? HUMMM!

We got to watch 2 Superdogs shows. They did all sorts of fun stuff- high jump , long jump, racing each other running obstacle courses, and a game that was kinda like Musical Chairs, but was actually Muscial Dots. There were these big dots on the floor and the dogs and people had to walk around the outside of a line. Then when the music stopped the dogs had to run and lie down on one of the dots. The people couldn't go beyond the line. Of course there was one less dot that there was dogs.and one dog would be eliminated each time. It was really funny to see all the dogs scrambling and the people trying to get the dogs to go lie down on a dot.

The Superdogs I recognized were: Pot Roast, (the English Bulldog), Phyllis Diller, Earmuffs the(papillion) and Streak, who was in the Superdogs movie.

Pot Roast

Earmuffs

Streak

There were also Superdogs from Saskatoon too: Brazen (a brindle mix), Sting (Dutch Shepherd), Charlie (black standard poodle), Sass (pug), and a few more too. Anyways, I know the ones from Saskatoon so it was very exciting to see them in the show.

I wanted to go up after the show to sniff noses and butts with the dogs, but Momma said "No". I guess that was for the children, and I had to get back to my job of being petted and fussed over while Momma talked to the people interested in agility. It was a ruff job but someone had to do it ;)

So to make me feel better Momma bought me a Superdogs bandana and a Superdogs leash. (Okay, so she also bought bandana's for Nikki and Casper too and we all have to share the leash- but don't tell them that !! )

So that'd my story of seeing the Superdogs. I was only there for 4 hours, but I was so tired afterwards that I slept and slept. Have any of you doggies or your people seen the Superdogs?

Agility Fun !!

Hi doggies,
Did you know that we do agility? It is so much fun!!! Us doggies have been taking agility classes for a few years now. Here are some pictures of our people and doggie friends who competed at the 2006 AAC National Championships. It is only a dream of Momma's to someday take a dog to the AAC Nationals! Buddy and I are starting to go to local trials and even once in awhile we get some ribbons! Ribbons- can you believe it ??

Here is a picture of Buddy running like the wind at a Fun Match.

Here is Buddy jumping at his 1st trial (Sept/06). He got a 4th place ribbon. It also shows why his nickname is Muddy Buddy! LOL

This past April was my first ever agility trial and after being the "entertainment for the day" by doing ZOOMIES all over the place, it finally all clicked. What clicked you say? Well I was all zoomied out so I settled down and Momma did all the right things to show me where to go and guess what ? WE ROCKED!! It was in Jumpers and we got a 1st place ribbon and a 'Q'. That means I Qualifyied ( no faults and below the required time- and I was way below too!) Momma was so excited and she picked me up hugged and kissed me at the finish line and our agility instructor came running out to give us hugs too. It was awesome! Momma was so thrilled that she went out and bought us all new toys and treats too. Momma didn't ever think that she would get a Q with me 'cause I'm a ZOOMIE DOG. Humm .... maybe I should get more of those Q's.....you never know what awesome things I might get for the next Q... ;)
Here is a picture of me with my ribbons

Well our agility trials since that one haven't been as exciting, but we still have tons of fun ! And lots of times I continue to be the official ZOOMIE Entertainment of the Day. If you do agility, let me know. I think we are turning into agility nuts! LOL
