100 Sled Dogs Killed Because Tourism Slows! Whistler, Bc
This is so unbelievably cruel. How could they do this?
We hope that this "adventure" company involved is prosecuted. We are hoping that they recieve enough bad press that it puts them out of business!

Robine Hood Aidan Story
Please, take a moment to help Nadia celebrate the three loves of her life, Robine, Hood and Aidan. Then get angry and help her spread her message to others that this kind of travesty NEEDS TO STOP.

WHAT IN THE H*LL IS GOING ON AT THE TORONTO HUMANE SOCIETY?
Can this really be true?
A so-called "Humane" Society that:
-Leaves animals to live in their own excretement for days or weeks.
-Leaves dogs and cats agonizing in pain with no treatment.
-Leaves sick animals to die in their cages agonizing for days.
-Where staff members were being bullied and fired when they tried to do something about the terrible things that were happening.
-Where Vets were not being allowed to treat or euthanize animals that were clearly in pain.
-Where police conducted a search warrant yesterday and found a mummified cat (named Casper) that had been caught in a live cage in the ceiling. It would have died of starvation and had been left there for about a year. See this at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0aZd0QDaVk
-Where management staff of the Toronto Humane Society are being arrested and taken away in handcuffs for cruelty to animals. Here are the photos:

We are disgusted, appalled and extremely saddened for the animals that have suffered in the hands of these horrible people.

Watch this video. Yes it's sad and it made me ball like a baby, but you need to see to believe it.

PLEASE Sign Petition Following Microwaving Death Of A Cat
We are totally disgusted that anyone would do such a thing to an animal. However we are even more disgusted that the two 16 year olds who did this were only given community service and a requirement for counselling.
Canada needs to change it's laws in order to protect those who can not speak for themselves and that includes animals!
Please sign this petition at
http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/microwave-killing-of-cat-in-camrose-alberta.html
It will help us to tell our government that we want stronger animal cruelty laws.
Thank- you!

Can You Even Believe This?? We Can Not!!!
All of us doggies (Casper, Buddy, Nikki and Meeko too) have at some time in our lives been in a dog shelter. We thought that shelters were places that were doing their best to help doggies move on in our lives and find Furever Homes. We know that we among are the lucky ones because we found our Forever Home !
Well after we read this we are kind a in shock. What do you think?

You've heard it before.....Arkansas animal shelters struggling to take care of unwanted dogs and cats. One mayor has decided the best way to fix the problem in his town is to set the animals free. KARK visited the Helena-West Helena animal shelter back in January. Conditions were dirty and animals were in poor health. Thursday, KARK learned the town's mayor James Valley has taken the unconventional approach of releasing the animals into the wild. In a press release, the mayor says "we fed and watered them and took them to the St. Francis National Forest."
We're told about ten dogs, including several pit bulls were set free and that some of the dogs were sick.
Here is Wednesday's news release from Mayor Valley:Ladies and Gentlemen: This morning we began the process of dealing with our animal shelter problem. I have met, today, with Ms. Gloria Higginbotham. She is heading up a committee to create a county-wide animal shelter and perhaps with the participation of all governmental units, we can provide the kind of facility that will be deemed appropriate. In the mean time, we are or have released all but a few our those animals heretofore housed at the sanitation shop. We fed and watered them and took them to the St. Francis National Forest and released them to freedom. We are disassembling the pens or fences and will not any longer house or keep any of these animals. This problem is dogging us and taking away from our ability to focus on the greater good for the community as a whole. One of our animal control officers has been to the hospital three times in as many months. Twice for bites and once for a severally sprain ankle growing out of incidents with these animals. When Ms. Higginbotham's full plan is revealed, I plan to support it and assist her and the group in caring for our animals. I just wanted to let you know.

NO DOGS FOR LAPORTE!!!!!
Here is one of the Laporte dogs after being in a foster home. Happy and healthy.
Scroll down in this post to see what this dog looked like when the dogs were removed from Laporte.
Warning this post shows pictures of dogs that have been SEVERLY NEGLECTED.The pictures are difficult to look at. Do not read any further if these type of pictures are disturbing to you

Well on May 6/08 the verdict finally came down.
Judge Sirous sentenced Laporte as GUILTY!!! YES!!
He will be fined $2000 and have to do 200 hours of community service. He will be unable to own or breed dogs for 3 years and most of all he will NOT be able take back 18 of the Wire Fox Terriers that he was trying to get back! These 18 dogs have been called "the Blaineville Wires"
Ya- we know it really doesn't sound like all that much of a sentence when you see how he kept the dogs that he supposedly 'loved so much', but it was the most that the judge could give him.
Nearly 15,000 people signed the petition at http://www.thepetitionsite.com/2/no-dogs-for-laporte to stop Laporte from getting the dogs back and to make sure he was sentenced as guilty.
Watch this video to see the full story and how happy and healthy some of the dogs are now.
Thank- you Judge Sirois for sentancing him as guilty! We wish you could have given him a stronger sentance including jail time. We wish he would never being allowed to own a dog again!

DID YOU SEE OPRAH'S SHOW ON PUPPY MILL'S?
It was very sad to watch. Momma cried several times. What did you think of the show? If you didn't see it you can watch some clips of it here:
Puppy Mills
PLEASE DO NOT BUY PUPPIES FROM PET STORES! They come from these awful places.
If you haven't done this yet, we would appreciate all the humans to sign the petition on the top right of our blog. It's to stop a man named Laporte who owned a puppy mill in Montreal, Canada from ever owning a dog again. He kept the dogs in unbelievably horrific conditions. Apparently his lawyer is asking that he be allowed to keep some of the dogs!
So if you are looking for a new puppy, we ask that you DO NOT BUY PUPPIES FROM PET STORES (and therefore support puppy mills). Instead look into responsible breeders or rescues or shelters.
How do you find a responsible breeder?

Are you considering adopting or rescuing a dog?

Thanks for taking the time to care about us doggies!
PS Did you know that all 3 of us came from shelters? (and also Momma's first dog Sandy!)
Thanks Momma for saving our lives!
